Get healthy! Get outside! Go, for a walk!
The Weimer Group supports this national event to get out and take a walk. Statistics show that 1 in 2 men, and 1 in 3 women are at risk for heart disease, and the research shows that poor lifestyle is a major contributor. There are many great walking paths, parks and sidewalks that are in the Bucks, Berks, Montgomery, Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley area. There are so many great easy-made recipes that are out there, the American Heart Association’s My Heart. My Life. healthy living initiative is working to help individuals and families understand how to get active and eat healthy.
These days there is a large amount of adults who are spending more time at work than ever before. An unfortunate side effect is that, as a nation, we’re becoming more inactive. This is a real problem when you consider the fact that physical inactivity doubles the risk of heart disease and can increase the risk to your insurance policies.
But take heart! It’s a problem you can help fix by convincing your company to take part in the American Heart Association’s National Walking Day. Employees are encouraged to wear sneakers to work and take at least 30 minutes out of their day to get up and walk. It’s a great way to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and to give your coworkers a friendly push toward a healthier life.
On the insurance side of things, with diseases that our population are getting due to inactivity, diet and social activities can contribute to the amount of money you pay for Life Insurance policies premiums. It can also effect the demographic to your company’s Healthcare Insurance too. Of course other terms and conditions can apply to your insurance policies.
