Women make up a little more than 50 percent of the U.S. population, but they accounted for just 36 percent of 13 million new car registrations in the past two years, according to TrueCar.com, a Santa Monica auto pricing information company.
Road & Travel Magazine reported women purchase more than 50% of all new vehicles, an $83 billion market, and influence 85% of all auto purchases. They spend another $300 billion on used cars, repairs, parts, service, and maintenance.
Overall, Kia is the brand with the highest percentage of female registrants (45.8 percent), followed by Suzuki (44.2 percent), and Mini (43.9 percent). Subaru, Hyundai, and Volvo are also popular with female buyers, according to TrueCar’s figures.
So what are the females at The Weimer Group driving? Subarus, Ford, Honda, Chevy, & Mitsubishi to name a few. For many of us a car is purchased for its’ functionality; driving errands, kid’s events, long trips and of course for economical reasons.
