What type of coverage do you need?

Backed up sewers can wreak havoc on a home,  causing thousands of dollars in damage to floors, walls, funiture and electrical systems.  Sewer back up covereage is available at minimal costs per year.

There are numerous reasons to cause sewer backup including, aging sewer systems which the number of backed up sewer mains are rising at an alarming rate of 3% each year.  Combined pipelines are problems that are on the rise because systems combine storm water and raw sewage into same pipeline, so during rain storms the system is exposed to more volume than what they can normally handle.  Tree roots seeking moisture will make their way into sewer line cracks.  These roots can cause extensive damage and they work their way into a small crack and while the tree or shrub grows, so does the root and will eventually cause either blockage or a burst pipe.

There are ways to PREVENT backups including dispose of grease properly by pouring  grease into a heat resisted containger and dispose of in trash after it has cooled.  Paper products (paper towels, disposable diapers, feminine products) need to be disposed of properly by putting into your trash can and not your drain and toilets.  If you experience a sewer back up, please immediatley arrange for cleanup.  Cleaning should include wet-vacuuming or revoval of spillage, mopping floors and walls with soap and disinfectant, flushing out and disinfecting plumbing fixtures, steam clean or remove all wet carpets or drapes, repairing or removing damaged drywall or wall coverings, cleanup of all ductwork.   File a claim to your agent and save all receipts related to repairs, clean up or damages.
