Accident / Injury Coverage:

Aflac’s Accident plan pays cash benefits toward accidental injury, dismemberment, or death. The wide range of benefits assist with expenses associated with an injury, such as emergency treatment, hospital, ICU, appliances, follow-up visits, and physical therapy. Beyond medical expenses, this also provides benefits for transportation, lodging, and accidental death. This plan is designed to provide benefits throughout the different stages of care and offers a solution to help with expenses major medical does not cover.

Short Term Disability:

Aflac's Short-Term Disability insurance helps provide our policyholders with peace of mind and cash benefits at a time when they need it most—during a disability. This policy helps with the loss of pay resulting from a sickness or injury through monthly benefits.

Cancer Plan:

Aflac Cancer Plans have always been designed to help with the expenses of cancer treatment that may not be covered by a major medical health plan or basic employer sponsored health benefit plan. Cancer treatment in general creates other costs outside of the cost of care, such as travel and lodging expenses. Cancer treatment can result in time away from work for the patient and usually at least one other significant person or family member.

Hospital Coverage:

For someone primarily concerned about facing a high deductible because of hospitalization, Plan 1's confinement benefits are ideal. Both annual and daily benefits are available, along with rehabilitation and waiver of premium. Because all benefits of Plan 1 are tied only to hospitalization, Plan 1 is also compatible for persons covered by Health Savings Accounts.

Plans 2 and 3 include annual and daily benefits, but also address services that extend beyond hospitalization. Plan 2 adds benefits for surgeries and invasive diagnostic exams and allows these benefits on an inpatient or outpatient basis. Plan 3 adds wellness, medical imaging, and ambulance benefits.

Critical Care:

Aflac's Critical Care and Recovery (Specified Health Event) provides continuum of care to help relieve the financial burden that accompanies a serious illness and allows the policyholder to focus on recovery. It also serves as a financial reserve for re-occurrences of the same illness or additional illnesses. The primary specified health events covered are heart attack, stroke, coronary artery bypass surgery, end-stage renal failure, major human organ transplant, major third degree burns, persistent vegetative state, coma, and paralysis. Aflac recently added sudden cardiac arrest as a primary specified health event through policy endorsements at no additional cost.

Dental:

Aflac’s dental insurance helps with routine care like cleaning, checkups, fillings, cavities and root canals. There are no networks and no annual deductibles.
