In 1968, George C. Weimer, CLU, founded G. C. Weimer Associates in a corner of the old general store in Elroy, PA. The agency operates today, as it began in 1968, as a complete multi-line independent insurance agency.
Based on our dedication to provide professional services to all our policyholders, our business has continued to grow from the very start. We expanded our business in December 1984 by opening a second office in Perkasie. We relocated that office to a new, larger facility at the Perkasie Square Shopping Center in August 1994. Most recently, in November 2008, we moved from our original office location in Elroy to a newly renovated building at the corner of Schoolhouse Road and Route 113 in Harleysville, approximately 2 miles from our original office location in Elroy.
In December 2003, Mr. Weimer retired from the agency. At that time, his share of the agency was purchased by his long-term partners Dean Wimmer, CIC, CLU and David Beck, CIC, who continue to run the agency in the tradition established years ago -- as a team of knowledgeable, caring professionals dedicated to providing quality insurance and financial services so our clients can enjoy financial security and peace of mind. In August 2004, the agency name was changed to The Weimer Group.
Today, we employ a total of 30 insurance specialists and office staff between our two offices. Following our commitment to service and professionalism, we have grown to serve over 7,000 business and personal clients.
